PAULETTE GODDARD & ALBERT EINSTEIN

Charles Chaplin met Albert Einstein in 1931 and invited him to Los Angeles.

Einstein asked to meet Chaplin’s wife. The first meeting with Paulette took place in the Oyster Bar in New York’s Grand Central Station. Einstein spoke of this meeting which served for him as an experience on relativity in a somewhat humorous article published in 1938, in the Journal of Exothermic Science and Technology. He wrote: When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute - and it's longer than any hour. That's relativity !
