PAULETTE GODDARD & ARISTOTE ONASSIS

She met Aristote Onassis in Los Angeles after he’d gone to the United States seeking refuge during the Second World War. Though he lived in Centre Island, a village in Long Island, New York, he frequently went to Hollywood where he also visited the actress Veronica Lake.

The most famous Greek ship-owner and one of the biggest figures of the international jet set, Onassis was very often the talk of the town especially in connection with his famous mistresses (Maria Callas), and his overhyped marriage to the most famous American First Lady, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.
